*Keep in mind that I am not exactly a genius when it comes to these kind of things.*

I think that this is the most amazing program for halo 3 modding that we have available to the public for a couple of reasons. The one I want to talk about the most though is the Locales tab. Its fun reading all the little phrases that Bungie implemented into the maps. For instance, I was skimming through the Locales in Guardian.map when I came across this...

"This party is playing with a newer version of Halo 3. You will need to upgrade your version of Halo 3 to join this party."

Located at POS: 20746 LEN: 121

Also another interesting one...

"This map variant is no longer valid. It may be damaged or it may be from a different version of Halo 3."

Located at POS: 29171 LEN: 104

What do you think they mean in these phrases by a "different version of Halo 3"?

Also one more extremely strange one would be this...

"Hold ??? to ride in Phantom"

Located at POS: 58507 LEN: 27

I thought we weren't allowed to ride in those. I didn't even know there were seats? Well, I am sure there are MANY more interesting things in this blade and I will point some more out later for anyone that cares.

If an AU changed something to the point that it doesn't work like an older version of the game, then they wouldn't make it compatible with older game data. We may not ride the phantom's in retail, but we have no clue what all Bungie cut out of the game...

Yes, Bungie cut out things from the retail like the Vortex, but it is still in the game code.

I wold assume from an auto-update, much like in Halo 2. Also no need to tell us the Position/Length; there is a filter box on the right =x

You can edit. :/

Anyways, nice app Prey. I can't really use it, so I like reading through all of the strings as well.

Another great tool ... I hope it will not take any longer to Test them ...

Why do Prey not work on Engineer too ?
You could make 1 big great tool in between of 2 good tools ^^
Prey has already put some work into Engineer.
Sry, doesnt know.

To that phrases ...
You talk about that this WAS in the game ... maybe its still there, like in Halo 2 the Juggernaut but just not in Use ...
I will dl right now, extract my Halo 3 DVD and jump into the see of informations ^^

Resign is just a incorrect term that was used. He really means recalculate the checksum.

It is not the actual "signature" of the map that is required for it to run.

You can not mod Halo 3 maps, at all. Well, you can not use any mods you make. So no, you can not fly a Warthog and whatnot.

There aren't plugins for every tag, yet. Therefore, no meta editor will appear for them.
