HAVING TROUBLE BELIEVING THIS AWESOMENESS?(Add Glitch100 on Xbox LIVE-or add Jihaut100 on AIM)
Within 'The Pit', there is a room (known as the sword room) and within this room there are 3 LARGE monitors and 2 Small ones. I'm assuming that Bungie originally planned that these screens would show locations of other players on the map, via Security cameras.
After rummaging through the tags, I eventually found a SCREEN (Yes a proper screen) and an Invisible camera which acts like a security camera.
I, to my knowledge have been the first to utilize this.
The tags are located in Scenery and Bloc-
Screen wrote:Cyber_Monitor_Med - in the Scen Tag.
Camera wrote:box_o_tyson - in the Bloc Tag.
-----------------------
I showed it to a number of members of this forum in a custom game. Including- DEEhunter JIME01 and a few others.
I originally tried to have multiple screens and cameras, but what actually turned out was many screens all showing the one camera, DESPITE there being more than one on the map.
I am aware that the Map file size is 170kb or w.e. DISREGARD it- it still works.
Enjoy
O rly?

And?
So you can see people in a small area of the map. There's not really anything worthwhile you can do with this.
Also, it's not an innovative way to mod. The way you are modding is a Forge variant, which is not new or innovative. It's barely an innovative use of items on the map, because, as stated, it has very limited practical use.

I think you're missing the explanation for the "Innovative Ways" in your title.

This is interesting. It's just conceptual right now, but it could be put to good use in a full map variant (possibly for zombies or territories or something). Now just to think of a good idea...

I saw that on a site and I think that Bungie shouldn't have left it out of the game.

Me and thrasher alfa were playing with these and when we did it we couldnt manage to get more then 1 camera to be displayed and the monitor was only visible to the host.

I see no 'innovative ways to mod,' but that is still pretty cool.

Ok, I misused "Innovative". My bad. I changed the title.

Didn't they originally plan to have this ingame? Like, before the game was out. I remember hearing about this when they talked about the level.

Hmm? Even H2V can technically do that and I believe H2X as well..correct me if I'm wrong.
So...what's so special again?

Most likely the fact that it wasn't implemented into the final retail version.

I can't. That site isn't allowed here. So, I just quoted your gamertag and AIM.
Thanks for being ok with it, though.

...What? If you are asking me to
clarify, then I was saying that just simply a map with some screens and a camera is pretty boring (not much more than a proof of concept), but it could be put to good use in a full-out map with weapons and objects and other mods. But this is a good find; thank you for sharing. I probably wouldn't have found this alone, as those tags are fairly unassuming.

I think you would find it is a HALF completed map, which i shared with the community before someone claimed credit for utilizing it first, each side has a hog, a sniper tower with (non appearing sniper cartridges?) Float lifts into each tower, and 8 bipeds 4 on each side, plus a mine field underneath near Overshield. I try my best to make playable maps- its unfortunate this one wasnt finished. I will finish at a later date- Im currently working on getting Multiple cameras to work.
