Hello, Im The_Dark_One. Im not new to HaloMods or Modding Halo. A few of you may have seen me on other forums as Kast130. Anyways, im creating a Halo 3 Gametype editor and wish to get some feedback. This isn't in the utilities section because im not releasing it yet. I still need to do quite a bit of research and development. Any contribution (info, programming) is greatly appreciated. Also, CONSTRUCTIVE critisism would be nice. Thank you. The Features list is at the bottom, after all the Pictures.

Features Include:

*Ability to edit every aspect of a gametype from your computer.
*Ability to extract and inject the variant info to and from the CON files.
*At the time of the screenshots, only supports Slayer game variants, but will support all eventually.

After this project is completed, i will be working on a forge editing program that allows you to increase the number of a certain object on the map, more credit/cash, etc.

Im not exactly a Pro at programming so if anyone can be there for me to ask questions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :D

Good job. If this is written in C# you can ask me questions :P.

By the way, does the write back to the container and work in game? Edit: Nevermind...I actually read your post this time around >_<.

Could you please IM me and demonstrate how you extracted/injected the files from CON archives? Thanks!

I have a few Halo 3 BETA gametypes saved if you would like to make a converter ;)

Also I wouldn't expect this to work in game because of all the flags. Also Anthony help him understand what he should do right if he's doing it wrong. I would like to see this go somewhere. We may even be able to make modded gametypes.

A gametype with 0 second respawn time with the ability to start with various weapons would be good (since not any weapon could be a strating weapon)

I look forward to see more options :P

:P once this works we can finaly get some interesting zombie games where the "living" start with no weapons at first.

I would be more impressed if you had instead posted only/also your research, as it now means someone else will have to go to the bother of doing it all over again if they ever wanted to make such an application >_>

Hopefully you will post your research, so that I can add it to the main thread, and then others can also come and contribute. The community is much more involved that way ^_^

This was never done in Halo 2, however is it possible to make your bipd melee while not wielding a weapon?

I don't even think there's a glitch currently to make you not wield a weapon in Halo 3...but like you said, it wasn't in Halo 2, so it's doubtful it'd be possible in Halo 3.

Ok. First off.

Anthony: I know what im doing.

Shadow LAG: I've mapped out almost all variables and flags.

Prey: I prefer to keep my research to myself at the moment. After i release this program, i will most likely release the research then. Nothing pisses me off more than me posting my research and someone releasing a program that does the exact same thing as me, BEFORE me, when i had already had the idea and started the project.

Looks great! good work

there is a glitch for no weapon but it goes after you pull the right trigger. Problem is it only works on system link and local! haha

here's the trick (and it really is a trick, you need a lot of fingers): hold down both bumpers, both sticks, A and DPad-Down for 3 seconds. (Three fingers per hand should do it.) To bring the gun back up, just pull a trigger. And oh, yeah - this works in both Multiplayer... AND Campaign.

i was refuring to humans starting with no weapon and have to pick one up that is placed in the level. That way there is a small chance that a zombie will get to someone before the get a weapon.

I understand what you were referring to, I just thought that it would be awesome to have your character running around meleeing without a weapon.

That's just a debug command to disable the weapon being viewable in the HUD...we're talking about actually having no weapon, like the old glitch you could do in Halo 2 with a Plasma Pistol and Oddball.
