I don't think that would be a good way to go because then couldn't people be able to use that on Live? Because people could jsut edit the scenerios and it would be verified by bungie because that's what forge allows.

One of the main reasons you would want to look into these files, would be so you could spawn something on another map that forge doesn't allow for. But that may be what is being verified here :?

Why does it matter to mod halo 3 so much when you can only play on a tunnel program when you have a lower than 30 ms connection? Halo 3 modding would be great but the concept behind modding is to play others with the map too right? I mean how are we going to play these modded maps without actually being on a real live system link. Plus why would you test your luck with a 400 dollar piece of equipment. I red ringed my cheapo xbox 1 when I was trying to softmod it. I guess I just don't want to lose my money that quick. If I don't break the 360 I don't know who I would play the cool modded maps with. I think taking halo 3 content back to the halo 2 game though would be fun. I don't know why we don't have halo 1 content on halo 2 either. I mean anyone else here miss sidewinder?

That's a good idea - but I really hope Bungie wasn't stupid enough to let something like that go by (Not because I don't want modded forge maps - I do, but because if they let something so obvious go by there, I can only imagine what protections are missing against cheaters - I don't want to see Halo 3 infested by cheaters like what Halo 2 has seen).

Have a little faith. A lot of the work concerning bans is done on the server side, not the client side. Adding protection to the maps isn't where they're catching people, they're doing it when they try to use the content. Adding protection would be a waste of resources, because they are fully aware it wouldn't take long at all to undo all of that work. It's wise to devote their time to the server-side aspect, where they can find people using modified content, not try to stop them from modifying it in the first place.

So....

basically everyone wanting to play Live and Mods will needs 2 360s right?
And we have to find a way around the ping-filter for any of this to matter..

Assuming the game for whatever reason lets you use hacked files, but reports it on Live and bans you, you would probably be able to just not sign in to Live and delete the hacked files when you want to do Live.

Or maybe it keeps the files in some hidden queue or cache to check to Live when you sign on later - then you could just buy a memory unit, and remove the 360 HDD when you play hacked files, and when you do Live, take out the memory unit and put in the HDD.

Or, maybe there aren't any real detections put in place yet as Bungie probably isn't too sure what to expect yet, and you'll be perfectly fine using your hacked map variants and game variants (assuming there is a way to hack them at all) on Live, at least until the first h3 live update.

It's too early to really call anything on it yet.
