Halo Photography

I'll keep this quick. I'm a bit confused as to why there are so many "Halo Photography" variants here. We have the Halo Photography thread, the High Res Halo Photography thread, Halo WIP Photography thread, Halo 3 photography thread, and now the Halo Forge WIP Photography thread. I originally created the Halo Photography thread to both avoid this duplicity and to encourage people to take pictures worth looking at. It was intended to allow high res shots, WIP shots, Halo 3 shots, and even Forge shots. Is there a need for so many? Let's just which ones to keep and which ones to lose. They aren't all necessary.

Thank you.

What if people are only interested in high res shots, that they could use as their wallpaper? Or if they care for Halo Wars, but not any of the other Halo games?

There could be only two threads, but because of the way the forums are structured... I do not believe that forge is modding so it has no place in Halo WIP thread: the WIP thread was created to allow for more technical screenshots to be shared that had no restrictions placed upon them: aka: HUD.

Halo 3 Photography is pretty self-explanatory, as is the Forge WIP thread which arose from us not wanting forge shots in the WIP thread, as the few Halo 2, Halo PC, Halo CE, and Halo 1 modding screenshots and images that were being posted would be quickly smothered by the influx of the much larger forge images.

As is stands it is a bit much perhaps: but the only thread I find truly redundant is the Halo Hi-res photography thread which basically has made the normal Halo Photography thread dormant.

I disagree. The Halo Photography thread is dormant because the novelty of Yelo has worn off. People don't run around in Halo 2 taking random snaps anymore. The high res Halo thread has a purpose, and people use it for that purpose. If I completely deleted the High Res thread, Halo Photography wouldn't suddenly flourish with activity.

Very true. This is why I was careful to call it the "Halo Photography" thread, not the "Halo 2 Photography" thread.

The Halo Photography thread was designed to serve this very purpose as well. I understand why it was created, but I don't think it's necessary. It would be like having both a Render Gallery thread and a Weapons Render Gallery thread. I mean, what if people just want to see renders of weapons and that's it? Isn't that a bit redundant?

True. But then again, the High Res thread isn't exactly flourishing either, is it? I just see the over abundance of photography threads as unnecessary disorganization.

1) People aren't running around taking shots in any Halo game.
2)That's entrely different. The process of creating high-resolution screenshots if far more complex, and rewarding.
3) Nothing is flourishing on this site. But you must realise I clean out the High-Res thread every so often, as to make it more of a gallery. There are no posts on the first 10 pages that do not contain an image. In your thread, people chat and discuss the images. Mine is designed to be more like a gallery, again differentiating it from your thread.
