Is it possible to lose the huge square advertisment at the top right which stretches the top part, it's really, really annoying. =/ I'm all for ads, so you can make money or whatever, but that one is over the line.

I would agree with you. Unfortunately, none of the staff really have a say on what advertisements are displayed. The only one that could make a decision regarding that is Grenadiac, and he's pretty busy right now I believe.
Yes, it's annoying, but I guess that's life

Actually, the childs play banner was my idea, and doesn't generate funds for the site...I may hate children, but it's a charity I still feel pretty strongly about...

Why not just a smaller image? It would allow people to see the full thing, as well as it not stretching the page.

It's the AOL ad that they are complaining about, and I would agree...it's very annoying.

I think what Tural means is that, if you make the AD smaller, It would bring the AOL Thing over wouldn't it? And Yes it is very anoying. ( And its animated >_<) In a way.

Yes, the AdBlock firefox extension removes that annoying ad quite nicely

Meh, I use Adblock as well, and I noticed I_F said the Child's Play ad, so I assumed that's what they meant.

Yeah the Child's Play one is fine, it's simple, easy on the eyes, not annoying. Theh AOL one was the one we were bugged at.

I can get the ad to go away, but since the script sets the dimensions of it to 400xsomething, there is always going to be that space there.
Sorry, but AdBlock seems to be the best choice here.

Or just never come to this site...Never see that ad up the top again...
Adblock wins though...

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the AOL ad either, but if I keep it up for the next month or so, it means a new server for HaloMods. If you guys think you can come up with some replacement revenue, I'm willing to listen. I wish I could avoid ads altogether, but it costs me a couple hundred a month to pay for the server and unfortunately I'm not independently wealthy.
The ad has already generated $37 in the couple of days it's been running, which will help plenty with the server upgrade. Anyway, I hope you will take that into consideration. Sorry for the annoyance. It is only temporary, and hopefully it will all be worth it.

[edit] I sent an email to my advertisers to see if they could get a different size ad or if I could put it at the bottom of the page instead. We'll see what happens.
