MOTM
MOTM
With the ability to convert all BSPs, inject working bump maps, and many other recent modding innovations, the quality of mods would be worth the hassle of restoring MOTM. With all these tools and such, it would strive people into making their mods as awesome as they can, if they want to win MOTM of course.
Anyway, feel free to add suggestions as to why it should/shouldn't be put back in place, or whatever. I'm sure my explanation sounds odd, but I really couldn't think of another way to put it.

I mean, I could outline this all and manage it if no one else wanted to, (and this phrase is overused as well) but I would also like to know if anyone else would want it back. Cause if there are people who want it back badly enough, I'd be glad to set it up and manage it.

I'm backing this as well. I can imagine more people uploading wholesome mods that might be a bit more innovative than a few colored bitmaps and an injected biped. It could also show outsiders (people who don't mod but think it's all cheating) that modding isn't about auto-aim and jumping insanely high. I just personally think it will bring out more good mods than half-assed stuff.

The only reason I'd be for it is that people tend to try a little harder to actually *win*...If this supposed host, hosts or whatever do not bother to negotiate some sort of proper prize (which can't be something silly like just an avatar that anyone can make, needs to be much more than that) then there goes the incentive to try harder. The host would have to do a lot of work and be able to put up with a whole lot of crap else the competition will just collapse again.
It would need to be on a similar or greater scale than that of tjc2k4's, as his organisation, prizes and co-ordination made it good...But I won't get into how people were stupid and made us lose the best MoTM comps this place has seen.
But yes I would like to see someone try, for the sake of peope pushing themselves to make quality mods that I can download and enjoy.

I think that this is a great idea. I remember that someone from Bungie said "If you think that what ever you do is the best, it obviously will never BE the best. You need someone else to judge you and force you to perform better". However, I and probably a couple of other people would like to see a skin of the month as well

Well, I'm always a fan of competitions, but I just assumed I'll have to settle for ScottyGEE's skinning competitions and the Haloween competition; however, should they be given back to us, I'll do what I can to make it great. We have a lot of qualified people who have offered to run it, and I think any of them would do great. I, too, will give the same offer as they, but whether I run it or not, I'll help out however I can.

Yes I am in full support of either M.O.T.M or S.O.T.M. (of course I know that me being an almost complete unknown it doesn't count as much...) And I would be willing to (I've been sitting here for 5 minutes trying to remember the word...) 'donate' my time and whatever else to either or both of these competitions... I really believe that a competition is just what this site needs. But now I have to go... I need to finish up my skin for ScottyGEE's skinning competition before it closes... Which brings me to another point. Before I heard about ScottyGEE's skinning competition I had nothing to encourage me to actually finish a complete skin/mod. Now I'll actually be releasing my first ever mod after three months of modding halo 2. ScottyGEE's competition spurred me to create in one week what I had failed to do in over 2 and a half months.
So yes make a competition darn it!
