Just putting it out there, if you look at the epilogue map through Engineer or Johnson, several files (bitmaps & such) are given the name "forerunner planet."


Now you could say this is "proof" that the sphere in the legendary ending was actually the forerunner planet. Or, you could also wonder if Bungie, knowing how determined their fans are to unlock their games' secrets, would purposely rename the object to throw their fans off.

Known within days of the game's release. Incredibly old.
