Carbine...

So last night I was making a paintball Foundry map. I finished it up and went to make a gametype. I always like using the carbine for paintball games, so I went to select the primary starting weapon. I'm scrolling through the list of weapons, scrolling, scrolling, and I reach the top of the list. No carbine.
Did I miss the Bungie Update that talked about this? Why would they take it off the list?

Some weapons can't be placed in certain maps. This has occured within Forge since the game came out, so it wouldn't be in an update.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I am talking about when I am editing the gametype out in the main menu.

Seems a bit ridiculous though that they would take the carbine off the list
So the answer to my question, I'm guessing, is just because Bungie didn't put it there, no specific reason, correct?

Exactly, I think they just decide to give each map some weapons, like you can't have flamethrowers on every map.

No, if I remember correctly, the carbine and beam rifle are bugged. You cannot start with them.

I don't think that they stated it was a bug, however seeing as how you can start with all weapons (excluding flamethrower, etc.) I don't think they would make it where you cannot start with a carbine and beam rifle.
EDIT : We are talking about making a gametype and choosing the starting weapon, right?

I'm thinking that, due to lack of comments on it from them, that it isn't going to be fixed within any foreseeable time period.

I still can't bring myself to understand why they can't add a few chunks and make all weapons usable on every map. I'm positive that its not going to break the game if they do that. Why would they take out something that wasn't broken in Halo2, I don't recall anyone saying "Aw, man Halo2 sucks! You can make any weapon your primary or secondary when editing gametypes!"
I don't like complaining about halo, but sometimes I think there are just illogical decisions and I can't wrap my head around the logic.

its definitely not because some weapons cant be on certain maps, because i had this problem with the mauler, and that can be placed on all maps, i was wondering about this too, and it makes no sense to me...

Or because the 360 wouldn't consistently render at 30fps with larger detail maps.

If I was addressing the weapon issue I wouldn't have quoted an image which addresses another, would I?...
