If you beat the last level in Legendary, you notice that the master chief and Cortana are drifting towards some futuristic metal planet in the deep regions of space. Does anybody have any clue what planet this is, or have any theories that they might want to share?

Actually it might be... but on the surface theirs rock and all, unless the sentinels moved it all.

Onyx was my first guess.

Either way, there's nothing to suggest anything. It's just some planet. No theories can be supported just from the video, so everything will always be speculation.

I forgot who told me this. But in the beginning of the game, Marathon, it had the same sequence. A ship floating towards a metal planet just like what this is but it's the very end of the game.

Well you never know...Marathon does take place 100 years after Halo...

What does that have to do with what I said? I was telling you it does not start with a ship approaching a planet.

It wouldn't make much sense for them to put the movie in after the other one if it didn't mean something, and they did play the creepy flood music, so I'm assuming it isn't a good thing... But then again, we are talking about bungie here, half the stuff they do doesn't make much sense...

I think it's the deathstar but thats just me.

If its a forerunner planet it is a shield, not matter what.

Well, I heard Marathon started with a half torn apart ship floating in space with a green guy in a suit in a cryo chamber.

The main character also has memory loss. But I doubt the two games use the same main character, halo is heavily influenced by marathon and has m any similarities, but i do not believe that they're within the same universe.

Here is my therory.

Bungie said this is the last "Halo" game. That for a fact is sure. Halo is done. But I believe they are going to remake the Marathon Games. And if you say the two games take place in different universes and cant happen... well they do... but at the end of the game cortana and chief go into the slip portal and they dont know where it would take them.....

Anyways... I dont know. Its all speculation.

Well I've been listening to what you guys have been saying and have come up with this.

The next game Bungie makes is going to be a semi-remake of Marathon. Its going to continue where Halo 3 left off, and is going to follow the story line of the original Marathon games. The planet is going to most likely be Brutes, or an Elite planet that has no clue about the new alliance and the betrayal of the conventent.

If you have any ideas to add to this, then please feel free the post them.

Absolutely, 100%, factually incorrect. Bungie states this is the end of Master Chief's story arc. They do not say this is the last Halo game.
