Nowhere does it say it is not part of the series. If you paid attention, you'd see the series is by the same people who made that video, it's very likely that it is a trailer to the mini-series. Also, it is not "fan made."

ah, I didn't see this
Bungie wrote:A collaboration between Bungie Studios, director Neill Blomkamp, WETA Workshop and Origami Digital LLC, brings the first digital short depicting humanity's struggle to save Earth.
I saw the second part and that he created a whole bunch of other shorts so I thought it was fanmade

So you're saying the team of people that made the trailer/series aren't fans of Halo.

Well, saying that something's fan-made usually refers to it as being amateur-ish and not with good production values.

We're not playing technicalities, we're talking as if the word is used in context. Obviously they're fans, but in this context this stuff is not what we consider "fan-made." It's common sense, really.
They're in partnership with Bungie, meaning they are not independent fans. Unless you'd like to consider Uprising, Halo Wars, Halo novels, and so on "fan-made" as well.
7/20: A Warthog, eh?
