Just a few things posted over at Bungie about the Spring beta, thought I'd share for those of you whom don't check their site too often.

Will we see the function of the mysterious X button?

It's the only idea anyone has proposed here that makes any sense in relation to the information we've been told already. (Activates, useful when losing/doing bad, ect)

I wish they would have mentioned how long the beta will be playable for.

My guess is 1-2 months. I doubt it'd last until release...PSU's online demo was only a month long, and they had all the bugs fixed in time for release (even though it was one week after the beta ended). Worst come to worst, they can always patch the beta and work on the remaining bugs for release.

I don't know when I get my beta or my full game because the northern hemisphere thinks its superior to the southern by totally ignoring us

I believe it was said that you will need at least 1gb free for the beta. Moddable? Considering it's a XBL beta, that would be modding on Live. lolb&

Its a pity thats the only way to run it...Coz there's no way to check without getting banned as you said

The X button is not surprising and is useful when you are losing huh? What's the least surprising thing the other team can do to me in Halo 2 when they're losing? Team standby, of course. Therefore, X button = bursts of team standby. Or possibly a superbounce and autoaim button.

They better fix the BS host and cheating crap in time for Halo 3. If they don't I think I'll just have to play customs entirely and forget Matchmaking.

Of course it'll be moddable... who knows, someone may even be able to remove the time limit.

I'm not gonna test though, and get myself bant.

Maybe they will also include a splitscreen mode. Then we could mod that

Unlikely. The game is probably dependent on some Bungie server. It would ask the server to play, and the server would respond with yes or no.

Did any one here win the Halo 3 Beta Lottery?

Or we all goin' to get crackdown for the halo3 beta.

There was a thread at one point. Either that or it was in Files' Halo 3 thread. I know Locke got one, as did Veegie and some others. I preordered Crackdown, which is fucking awesome, so I'm in that way.

Not now but once the date is public for the beta... we should have a list of those in halo 3 beta, for reference reasons ... and such ( I am )

I have Crackdown preordered...that's my entry.

Set up a packet sniffer and a DNS server and see if you can trick it into thinking you're connected to Bungie servers. It's obviously a lot more work than that and probably much more time than it's worth.

Yeah, I made it through the first 13,333 thing. Thank God, because I played Crackdown and absolutely hated it.

I got into the first part of the beta...with the email. I know for a fact that the beta will be modded . I am not saying it's me either

You also have to take into consideration the fact that they are putting the beta out to fix things and to see how the general public feels about the game thus far. So i'd like to think more than 1 or 2 months. But we won't know till more info is released.

Ever thought that if we modded the beta, and the found out how... they would fix it so the final game wouldn't be moddable?!

I know nothing.

Impossible is only a challenge.
