Except for obvious changes from his armour in halo 2, has anyone noticed that in both of the halo 3 trailers, masterchiefs armour is a very similar colour to his surroundings. maybe a cheap version of camo?

No. It's the same as Halo 2, but it's just been through hell and back and is a little faded. That's why it looks a little more olive/brown than the usual green.

there using HDR lighting for halo 3 so chiefs armour will reflect its surroundings and also u notice the black orb has a colour image on it same thing will happen with his armou so for instance in the halo3 teaser his armour is brownish because of the sand reflection upon it

hes gaunlets seem different as to what a mammoth said, because in halo his gaunlet had no wholes, in Halo 2 it has 5 holes, in Halo 3 it has 3 holes

actually if you look at the close up picks of mc in h3 on 1up his armor has mud splattered on it

Um.. ok...
That really doesn't matter at all. Are you saying his entire body is covered in mud, and that it doesn't use HDRI?

no im not saying they rnt using HDRI im just saying that might be part of the answer

the chiefs armour is a bit different:
1) new Mjolnir (Mark VI i think, or mark V)
2) tis in high definition now
3) "He's been 2 giant wars already so he is all beat up" (Halo3 announcement vid)
4) New game, new look
some other reasons i forgot too
