Which would be the point of my post, theyre hinting it, but its not ready to be "officially announced" because they havent finished it, that's my guessYamagushi wrote:It seems as if the Map Editor rumor is plausible, unlikely but plausible.
As for everyone saying AI!! Your looking way to into it... It has AI standing around to make the video more interesting, It didn't show him fighting AI, it showed Lifeless AI standing around.. This is something I would completely expect in a bungie/halo video...

as the camera was showing what looked like a custom map creating interface thingyWhat?! there's no way we're showing this yet!

The Map Editor is a plausible rumor. Correct me if im wrong but I believe Veegie was referring to the AI.AbeFroman wrote:then how do you explain at the endVeegie wrote:It wasn't implicit of any new features...

And where did u see player controlled characters? As Xbox said there just Idle animations and sounds... They never gave any hint at it being a new feature, its a Bungie video and the Idle characters where there for looks... Had he walked thru all that without any characters it would have been a lot less interesting to watch. Just cause they were in multiplayer levels don't mean there gonna let us use AI. Its something that could easily be done by bungie staff with the proper Dev tools they use. It would be absolutely pointless to give us characters in Forge that just stand there and look pretty and make a sound here and there...shadowkhas wrote:Players controlling Flood characters, and others, in multiplayer is a new feature to me.Veegie wrote:It wasn't implicit of any new features...
Now had the Video been him running thru fighting these people, or even the AI walking around the halls it would be somewhat believable. But they weren't they just stood there and did what all Idle characters in halo do, look around and make random sounds.
Don't be.

I noticed something interesting (not in the vid) lifeless bipds actually respond to the player in halo 3... If you start shooting at them, the shot BEFORE they die, they will turn toward you. idk why. I know its not ai, but it's still interesting. I don't think they did that in halo 2
That is pure speculation... While veegie is good at what he does, he is not the all knowing god of halo -no offenseshadowkhas wrote:Reading other posts helps.Yamagushi wrote:And where did u see player controlled characters?Veegie wrote:They were player controlled.shadowkhas wrote:That turned...and attacked...Yamagushi wrote:Lifeless AI

Oh I see your proof is quoting from a few posts back.... Must be AI!! >_>shadowkhas wrote:Reading other posts helps.Yamagushi wrote:And where did u see player controlled characters?Veegie wrote:They were player controlled.shadowkhas wrote:That turned...and attacked...Yamagushi wrote:Lifeless AI
I dont see how saying they were player controlled makes them player controlled.. By the same logic, I say Halo 4 will be out by the end of the year, thus it must be!

The AI did that in H2, And also, VG is a great source. He has a lot of connections and can easily find out that information, And if you had a basic understanding on how the AI engine/system for Halo 2/3 works you would know that what was in that video was not AI, I don't want people to think that its a possibility. In one of the hints that was given during the update was "Generating pathfinding... again" That tells you that there is something to do with AI, now who knows maybe they generated paths for the AI on an MP map and you can spawn actual AI in the MP map, BUT You will not be able to do it on maps already released or maps that are not created by bungie. Its just not going to happen.
