use a regular xbox controller

hi,
i just got halo 2, and i have an xbox controller...
in halo 1 pc, i can play with a regular xbox controller.
But, I didnt find anything in halo 2...
is it possible to play with a regular xbox controller in the game?
if so, how?

There might be a way but the problem is sometimes wit the regular xbox controllers and halo 2 the triggers dont respond right. If your wonder where the menu is go in and start campaign or custom game and press start and under the settings theres a controller tab.

you could try using joy2toy....but its so damn annoying trying to get the calibrations right that i quite trying to get it to work for it lol

if your good at soldering then you could easily replace the the end to a USB as i had to do to mod my xbox originally (getting the save states on my memcard, ya im to cheap to buy a action replay) the controller basicly is usb with a misshaped end on it.

If he said he could already play hao 1 for pc with his xbox controller dont oyu think hes already done this???

good noticing.
well anyway, I have the XBCD setup utility...
I guess since in Halo 2 PC I cannot set what xbox button is what key,
I need to find something that can emulate the buttons on my controller...

I have the wireless xbox controller with the computer reciever and i have no problems, The buttons are automaticly set correctly but i change them to my liking.

change the way the buttons are set to,
do a google search or search the xbcd forums,
there is a profile you can make there that will have it set to emu a 360 controller

yah... i used controlmk and EVERYTHING worked, except halo 2.
It feels like halo 2 just ignores what controlmk does and does its own thing. I could move the mouse with my right anolog stick, which i couldnt in h2 pc...
does anyone know how to fix this, or not? I cant even look around in h2!
EDIT: I just changed it to window mode, and then the controls worked. But also, this still doesnt work, because for some reason,
halo 2 has its own controls, like b to jump, so when I press b on my controller, it melees AND jumps. This is for every control, so it is VERY strange.
