i'm having a problem. i can make fog with +media but how do you make water with +media. i can make awsome water by directly applying the shader to the surface but it dosent act like water cuz its not a +media object. pretty much i need to know
1 do i attach it to the map? connect it to the b_levelroot? or what. what do i do with the plain?
2 do i need a seperate +media plane for water and fog or if done correctly do they work togather?
3 materials. do i actually put the shader location with +media or do i just add the shader in the bsp?
4 height.. max height? sapien height? or is that not the height the water is on the level.
i just cant get the water to show up on the level on a +media plain.

any help would be awsome.

and i do have a working shader.. but maybe thats the problem too or not?

Ah, got it.

Heres my answers to your questions...:

1. Q. do i attach it to the map? connect it to the b_levelroot? or what. what do i do with the plain?

A. Yes, you attach everything thats going to be in your map, to b_levelroot.

2. Q. do i need a seperate +media plane for water and fog or if done correctly do they work togather?

A. Yes, you need a seperate plane to do fog. Heres a example. If your water plane is at x = 10, y = 10, z = 10 (those are the water planes position.), then make the fog plane at 5, 5, 5.

3. Q. materials. do i actually put the shader location with +media or do i just add the shader in the bsp?

A. With +media you do not need a shader. It generates fog from within the shared.map file.

4. Q. height.. max height? sapien height? or is that not the height the water is on the level.

A. Thats not for water height. That is for Vehicles/Bipeds. Also, how high the level can go.

Hope I helped!

Well, to make it ripple, well...did you follow my tutorial for water then?

It clearly said to set the bump_map_index to the water bitmap. Inside you would make the mode (normally set on constant) to Identity. Then setting the top textbox (top right of the graph) to 15, and the time (at the bottom left of the graph) to .5

Thats how you make your water ripple.
