Frequent crashing

Post by bibbit »

Like the title suggests, my H2V crashes a lot. If I'm just surfing through the menus, it crashes after a minute or two. If I manage to get into campaign gameplay without crashing, it crashes after 5 or so minutes. Is there something I can do about this, or is my PC just being retarded?

Also, every time I try to join a game on Live, it says, "You cannot join. Try again later." And it does that for every single Live game, every time, and sometimes it just crashes.

The strange thing is that both of the above issues were nonexistent yesterday. Do you think a simple reinstall should fix it, or is it something else? Thanks for your time.

Could be another program interferring in the background, my game did that a lot until I disabled ATI Tray Tools.
Are all your drivers up to date?
Mind posting a dxdiag?http://forums.haloonwindowsvista.com/fo ... /3916.aspx
Read that Thread- I made it and I coud actually make a similar one here if needed...

Well, first I did the -nosound, which stopped the crashing, then I did selective startup, which let me join Live games. Thanks for your help.

No problem.
For the sound you better check for newer drivers or maybe a wrong setting and/or filter etc.
For the LIVE see what other programs you were running in the background that could have interfered with it's connection.

Well yeah, I've been working at that, do you have any tips as to what it could be? I already checked my firewall and some other security stuff, but it's already set to allow it.

Well post a list here of the normal programs that you use to run and I'll try to tell you which one could be interfering with Halo 2.
