problem loading map file in Entity1.6

Post by CrimsonPh0enix »

I am using Entity to try to extract bumpmaps from halo2 vista maps. I first go to file --> open map, then a click on a map found in the halo2/maps folder. When I click open I get a message, "'Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Index was outside the bounds of the array." I click continue but nothing happens. I have the latest framework installed. Do I need any special plugins or drivers to run Entity? What are the steps in opening a map file in Entity?

Entity is for Halo 2 Xbox, not Halo 2 Vista.

Yeah, Halo 2 Vista maps are built differently, mostly becuase they are in a different format. The Xbox discs are in FATX, while I bet the H2v CD is either NTSC or FAT.

It doesn't do much with the host computer's filesystem, it has to do with the formatting of the tags in the map and the map's header.

CDs are CDFS, and like the guy above me said, thats not the problem. The problem is that h2v maps are structure a tad bit differently.
