im having a problem making any other bitmaps showing up other than those inside the industrial folder
(f_im flat_light_scratchy)
(f_ig dcr_bridge)
etc...
i get those but i cant make my custom ones appear nore can i get the detail_maps to show
any advice or ideas?

Try adding one of those f_im or f_ig prefixes. When the map is exported and compiled, the compiler looks into the "f_im" folder for that shader, so try naming it something like that.
Edit: I actually found out how that naming system works. In f_im, the "f" stands for forunner, the "i" for industrial, and the "m" for metal, so when it gets compiled, it looks into those folders, then the image you put after the f_im
