Halo Mods WebBrowser Beta

Post by silentrunner »

Hey everyone i decided to start learning C++ so i can start making modding programs sometime in the future maybe. i decided for some reason to make a web browser. when i was making it i wondered if i would use it when i finished so i decided to make it for this site. its probably not as good as you guys can code but hey i did my best and this is only an early beta version of it so if you have any tips that would be welcome. like i said its an early build so i will probably pimp it out a bit soon. ps i no it looks bad but give it a try please

Bad Thing
-------------
Well it does not look as good as most normal webBrowsers.

Good Thing
---------------
Because of its simple design its sometimes very very fast at loading.

If you make an application, don't name it after someone else's website unless they give you permission.

Technically, it isn't named after HaloMods. :3

mmm..kay.

Only thing I can say is that you should work on the appearance.

Though in reality, what is the actual use of this? Firefox is mighty fine, and I unintentionally have a Halomods-like theme on it at the moment.

Quite right.

If anything, someone should try to make a Halomods theme for Firefox. I'd be more likely to use that than another browser. =\

This is at least better than some of the web browsers i've seen before. It has more than just the browser set to load to the website on loading the form. It has buttons, but just make something like this for yourself, unless it's better than firefox or something, you probably shouldn't release it. I mean you just dragged the .Net WebBrowser control onto the form, you didn't do much, at least you did a few other things, unlike some people who make these.

take on a longer project until it is perfect and you could always ask people to help if you are intending to make something to compete with mighty old Firefox. good for a first try but take in longer projects till it looks good and has lots of good features, like fire fox.
