Pelican Skin

Post by rubs »

I was working on a Pelican skin but i forget to post it.
So here it is.

File: Readme.txt

Because I was bored I decided to make a custom Pelican Dropship skin.

It is not a halo 3 pelican skin I used some things of my old H3 pelican skin.
Feel free to use this in you mods and I would appreciate a credit.
You dont need to ask if you want to use it.

How to install:

Open Halo Map Tools.
Open the map a10.map (or any other map that has the pelican in it).
Go to [bitm] Bitmap.
Inject [detail corroded metal light.dds] into [characters\bitmaps\detail corred metal light].
Inject [detail boilerplate.dds] into [vehicles\pelican\bitmaps\detail boilerplate].
Inject [pelican.dds] into [vehicles\pelican\bitmaps\pelican].
Inject [pelican decals.dds] into [vehicles\pelican\bitmaps\pelican decals].
Inject [pelican_bay.dds] into [vehicles\pelican\bitmaps\pelican_bay].

Actually, second glancing it I like it a bit more. Forget my old grade, knock it up a point. 8/10.

for the most part it looks nice, but the yellow/orange lines look a little too solid...if you have photoshop you can make those a seperate layer with a layer underneath it that is the pelican skin that doesn't have the yellow/orange lines then with the eraser tool selected you can choose from a bunch of different brushes and one of them is a lot of randomly shaped holes, if you just click randomly on the lines it should have an effect like what happened in the green text in the pic i link to below

http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/4008/picrp4.png

edit: in this case, afterward you may want to get a solid brush and erase the altered arrows with a low opacity

I'm not too fond of the abundance of arrows.
Otherwise, it looks good.

it's not the arrows i think

it might be just that it isn't very well blended with the rest of the pelican like i said above, but worded differently

It doesn't matter if they're blended or not, to me. I just don't like them.

i don't know about that, i touched up the pic of the pelican a bit and i think it fixes the arrows while still having them on there

Image

if that doesn't look better to you then you really must not like yellow arrows

If the pilot is wounded or something and cant move, people outside the pelican can open the cockpit from there.

If the pilot of the pelican is wounded, all passengers are screwed. unless it's with a scarab gun of course. Then Johnson comes out of no where with a sniper you can take.

Skin is not bad...it's not good either.

Credits: The Christmas Story for that line! Anyways, when the father was talking about the wine, he was really thinking about your skin.
