Camo skins (out of ideas, any suggestions?)

Take SWAT off of the treads, and put the word SWAT reversed on that metal box on the front. You know, like the ambulances. That way people driving by can read. :P

Updated SWAT tank

download

and andrew_b, that's a neat suggestion, but i'm going to try to avoid TAWS whenever possible, aren't any useable mirrors in halo anyways...except for the one at the beginning of two betrayals and the end of AOTCR......wait a sec....if there is a real reflection there can't you put that reflection on any reflective surface to give it a real-time reflection instead of things like the cyborg visor which is just a bunch of blotches that move around?

Yes, with Eschaton probably. I think HMT Freezes when you try to turn it on in the tag though.

It's a shader environment property. :?

No need to pmi, or rebuild.

Care to name which shader environment property, please?

I've decided to start on the sniper rifle camo skins, but I've been getting some negative feedback along the lines of "nice concept bad execution" on the scope, so before i start on the actual camo skins, I'm going to get started with the scope...for a start...how's this? what do you like about it? what do you not like about it? in depth feedback is appreciated, if you can tell how to fix what you don't like about it, don't keep silent

Much Much better. I would do something to those buttons though, change them a bit, make them more obvous. IDK what, your choice, but I would do something.

how bout since i see no point on those existing there towards the in-game functionality of the sniper rifle, how bout i turn it into just 1 "button" but instead of a button it's kinda of a knob that switches the scope between 2x zoom and 8x zoom, im kinda like one of these

Image

except actually works

Yah. Except you couldnt get it to actually turn, or actually have a model without moving something else there, so it would look a little sketchy.

i could have sworn i edited my post with this in it
edit: plus i wouldn't need to get it to turn to 8x when you zoom in because when you zoom you can't see the gun
guess my internet decided it didn't like me, and who says it has to be a model? i can just put a picture of a knob over where the buttons go, and have it pointed slightly to the left where it says 2x, and in the opposite position it says 8x but isnt pointed to it

Exactly, however it'll look sketchy because it's a 3d object painted on a 2d plane.

the Bevel and emboss trick worked on those NV goggles, it should do fine here, i can make it a small knob also so if it did stretch it wouldn't be a big deal

Looks good. How's it work in game, can you see the model through that hole? I know I had that problem a few times in that H2 sniper I made, just curious if you've run across it?

Yeah, most people wont even see it. And even if they do, it's no biggie.

I'm looking forward to the next one.
