Redux UI Tweeked

one night on xfire with marolo i was playing around with a converted BSP in BG ported from CE. well, there were some issues with the bitmaps being corrupt. well, when i tried to correct the bitmaps in the rebuilt map it wound up corrupting my entire bitmaps (good thing for 6 backups) but none the less when i checked the ui to load a game i saw something interesting..

so i took a very simple idea and did a little leg work on it and made what is something so damn simple but i think makes the ui look so much better now. if your wondering what im speaking of check this quick vid i did on it..

its still the redux ui but i added the right meta swaps in the places i felt it needed to be. yes, all i did was mod the stock cryoglass so its 100% transparent now and copied it on the right bitmaps. i didnt say this was uber groundbreaking but i just thought it looked very awesome this way.

how this works..
in the download are two files.

1. ui.map
2. cryoglass.dds

replace my ui with yours and inject that cyroglass into your bitmaps. its really that simple.

now if you want to keep the stock look of your ui and dont want the redux one then simply download the file, inject the cyroglass into bitmaps. then follow these simple directions..

save/move/backup your current ui.map!

1. open my ui in hmt
2. open your ui into another hmt
3. the meta number for my cryoglass in the ui is "564910"
4. find the meta number for the cryoglass in your ui.
5. go through the bitmaps sectionin my ui and find where i injected "564910" over bitmaps
6. use your cryoglass meta number and make the same swaps in your ui.

thats it. you get a little ui tweek and a tut in one with a working example i guess. this is a little way to add some new flair to your ui and make it not so dull with a very simple technique.

I never actually look at UIs, but that is cool. IMO 9/10, but that's just my opinion.

1\10 only for making 3-4 textures transparent.easily to make only for 2 minutes.

wow, did i not say it was cake to do in my original post? just cause a select few of us here think your modding group PM7 is lame doesnt mean you need to come into threads and down vote things for your own petty childish reasons as revenge for my comments on the gold AR?

When you join an internet game, and press "get list" your Halo displays thousands of games. Mine only shows about 3. :(

hrmm.. make sure halo is updated to 1.07. there might be some port issues that i dont know how to trouble shoot but im sure if you google or ask here someone would know. ive gone through this before and it was something dumb with gamespy..

eghh.. gamespy is weak.

considering the ui is part of the TaR bsp and that bsp is skinned according to the level in my bitmaps then it would show mostly red cause TaR is red now. but if someone were to use stock bitmaps it wouldnt look like that?

btw.. i dont use alot of red. i use alot of orange.

orange makes my eyes hurt
which is why i froze half of hell
gives a lot more variety XD
