Bridge of Doom 1/2Beta

OK, you know it was coming!! THE BRIDGE OF DOOM!!!!

Ok, still in beta because of the following reasons
1>Spawns are a little sloppy
2>Hallways at ends of bridges bad textures
3>hallwas have invisible ending wall
4>Little bug in the back of the pistol
5>Needler skin not finished
6>Barricades have gaps under them
7>look for some extra surprises

I'll get em fixed, don't worry bout it ;)

OK, overveiw of teh mod.

Ok, its a huge bridge, 300feet in the air, and very neat looking. I remodeled the magnum to make it look more like the 454 Casull (you shouldn't know what that is). It has 10 shots only and no scope, making it more like a real pistol (and keeping people from owning with it). Also, 6 barricades - 2 on each side's top floor - 1 on each sides bottom floor. Needler skinnned, and the p-rifle has a new, shiney refmap.

Well. This has been done many times, if it is SP-MP.

I like the effort that was put into this, though.

But try making it more unique.

PS, before putting your own models into your mod, learn to make them more complex and better looking. The pistol model is rubbish.

I'm trying to make it unique, but apperently it's going to be hard.

As far as the pistol goes, its not necessarily supposed to be a awesome model, its rather a "supporting actor" for what I'm going to add to this.

Well, I knew they wouldn't like it...

So, how am I gonna get creative with this? SP->MP maps are more creastive than just screwing with an MP map, or so I belive. Although I can do models, my skills are still limited: ie- I can't PMI or do successful SP->MP (I used the tut)

OK, on the bottom of my first post, there should be a box with 5 sections.
4 long rows on the right
1 big one on the left with a little paper clip on it.

Maybe you should have just posted a section in the modding discussion to post updated pictures of the progress of your mod.
Its looking nice so far though :) Could use a new theme (aka using skins), can't wait to see what you put out.

Semi-automatic 390 mm long weighing 60 kilos firing 6 rounds per magazine
too much gun for any normal human to handle
fires explosive armor peircing bullets with mercury charge
in short, there is nothing it can't kill

Well, I screwed around for 2 hours and no progress.

I corrupted just about every refmap and screwed up some other skins. Damn! What the hell is wrong with me?

I burnt out. I'm sick of trying and getting negative results

i had to release 2 former projects before i finally got to where i am now with redux. this is over a year and a half time also..

Keep the faith, yet its so hard.

I reverted to a backup of the map, but I still have corrupted bitmaps. I figured this wouldn't wokr, and now I have to somehow find a backup for the bitmaps.map on my computer. I just don't get it, any other day when I don't have time, I work my ass off to get some things done. Then I come home today, no homework or anything, and I waste my time completely. I havn't gotten anything out of today. I can stand my overall lack of any porductivity whastsoever. I'll go on working on my mod, then something else will divert my attention for whatever reason, then I'll find myself listening to music or watching a Hellsing episode. I can't even concentrate on the things I really want to work for. The things I want to work for are killing any relationship to my family, my freinds, and my social life. I sit in my room like a mole in its hole. I even earned "the mole" as a nickname from my family.
Long story short,
again, I'm burnt out. I gotta get my act together somehow.

in a month from now your mod even if it does succeed greatly will be on some random page and only brought to life by people who like to bump old topics.

your family, friends and significant other wont care about the internet celebrity you may gain off making a awesome mod for a 4 year old game.

im not saying "give up on your mod" but making sure your aware that when you sacrifice for one thing your taking from another. any amout of time on the net isnt worth salt living life with close ones.

dont let the mod run your life or your ambitions. the only expectations people are expecting from this mod is that you tried your best with what you know how to do. a score ratio means nothing compared to personal achievement within yourself knowing you did your best, your wiser from what you did and can still stand up off the comp and know when it time to let a project go or at least work less on it so it doesant "control" you.

were getting off topic and such but keep that in mind.

Hehe.. I've been on this computer so much that I have completely dropped all but maybe 2 or 3 of my friends.

Woops.

About the mod. If you want it to be unique, I'd advise reskinning the entire thing. Give it a different theme! Maybe a bridge high above a swamp? Give it a bit of fog and PMI a few trees in to put in the bottom of the map or something. Then reskin all the walls and stuff.
If you can't skin, then PMI bitmaps from c10.
