[HUD] UPDATED Halo 3 HUD for bloodgulch

Halo PC uploads. All posts must have pictures and a mod to download. Use PPF always, unless the map is rebuilt.

[HUD] UPDATED Halo 3 HUD for bloodgulch

Here is the Halo 3 HUD that I've been working on. I'm sure something like this would take most of you a few minutes, but I had to learn this all from mostly scratch. I really wanted to move the grenades over the the left a little more, remove the gametype box, and change the image of the shield. The grenade icon wouldn't move until you are down to your last 'nade, I can't find any way possible to move the damn gametype box, and I can't change the image for my life. Oh, and I can't seem to make the shield meter turn red when you are damaged. If someone can tell me how to do those things, I'd love to make a version two. Anyway, use PPF-O-Matic on bloodgulch.map to add this mod.
I'll make this for other maps if you all like it.

halohax's Halo 3 Bloodgulch bitmaps mod goes well with this.

UPDATE: Version 2 uploaded! New shield bar added, gametype box removed, the grenade box moved to the left a little, and the health bar has a fading effect (I didn't mean for it to happen and I can't remove it).

All I've ever made before was homing rockets and I increased the speed of ghosts, which took a total of ten seconds. So this was big for me.

just basic resembleance of it, not too much. ok because ur beginning. to get it to go better try editing the bitmaps

I tried editing bitmaps for 3 hours. I followed the guides but whenever I injected them, there were always black spots everywhere.

I got it from that "uber bitmaps" that was posted on here quite a whlile ago. but i think platoon 2006 had it....not sure

Im not feeling the shield bar in the middle. It seems like it could get in the way of game play... In my opinion they may have just ruined halo...

but that was like a debug and i heard it has changed we will just have to wait for the beta:/

did you edit the alpha of it? you have to edit the alpha channel or there will be black spots.

also, the hud has to be kinda a bit streched out to fit the visor, like in halo 3.

I think this looks awesome when in vehicles. I'm still trying to make the shield bar turn red when damaged and make the whole HUD look like a visor (like in Halo 3). Also, tell me if you want this on more maps.

Thanks CabooseJr, I didn't know alphas existed until you told me. Can anyone tell me how to edit the HUD color and edit the color while the shield HUD is flashing?

this is really nice. seriously.

when it gets completed it should go directly to outstanding.

only a few things id change due to personal preference. i dont like the flashlight hud being right in the center of the screen. like right under the target recital. also the nade display looks a little off in the left corner. for me the box was open on the left side of the nade hud and maybe moved over a bit more to the left to even out the whole look.

other then that it looks awesome. gj man.

10/10 as is and more cookies upon completition.

I think the shield bar needs to be moved up, so its inline with the ammo and grenades. Other than that, great job. Does the new hud only get applied to bloodgulch, because im not a fan of bitmaps.map changers. If it only applies to bloodgulch, ill be sure to use this in my new mod, and ill give you credit. Btw howd u move the gametype icon, nades and ammo symbol?

I believe the positions of the HUD only apply to blood gulch, but wouldn't you need a bitmaps patch for the new HUD look?

Whoops! Forgot about the flashlight. How did that get there? I can't move the grenade any more because I don't know how to move the grenade symbol, I've tried everything. I may remove the box around the grenades and adjust the shield bar to be in line. You NEED to apply the bitmaps patch for this to look right. Be sure to backup your bitmaps.map before you patch it (althought I think I added undo-data to the patch).

I didn't move the ammo, grenade, and gametype symbols per say. There was no way to do it with the plugins, so I just moved the greande number to the other side of the symbol, positioned the total and loaded ammo around the ammo symbol and....ahhem...removed all of the bitmaps for the gametype box.

As for effects on other maps, I guess I have to make this for other maps, because it replaces the bar and makes it horribly disfigured.

ill probably make my own H3 HUD, make it referencing the halo 3 zanzibar vid. or the newest H3 Vidoc
