The sound card doesn't change how the sounds sound. Computers typically don't have sound cards. The only thing a sound card does is increase sound clarity and quality for some games. It doesn't really matter at all for Halo.

If you didn't have a sound card, you would only hear system sounds. And that would be like *beep* *boop* *beep*.

And did you test out the mod yet?

All motherboards have an onboard sound processor. A sound card simply improves on that.

Well that's what I meant. I meant an integrated sound card is a sound card. But back on topic, did you test out the mod yet?

No, it's not a sound card. It's an integrated sound processor. A sound card is a card-shaped device that you plug into a PCI slot on your motherboard. It's about eight times the size of the integrated sound processor.

Okay, I'm sorry I'm a noob with hardware. So, did you try out the mod yet?

Not yet. I moved to my Dad's house for two weeks, and Halo really sucks on this computer. It just runs extremely slow. I only have a 64mb Radeon 9800 and 512mb of RAM...

You use ppf-o-matic to apply the ppfs to your maps. And yes, there are some new enemies and it is harder.

And Explosive American, Halo probably won't run so badly on your comp, it's from 2003. I played it once on my friend's 9600 and it was still playable in low resolutions. But this mod has some fancy effects and more enemies on screen, so it may be less playable.

People, you download a program named ppf-o-matic. You use this program to apply the .ppf files to the maps in your c:\program files\microsoft games\halo\maps\ folder, or where ever you keep your maps. And make sure you do NOT APPLY THE C10.ppf, use the other one that is dled seperately, and also the UI.map is just a map, so you just copy and paste the ui.map (not the rar) into your maps folder.

If you're still confused, search the tutorials section on how to apply a ppf.

sorry to bother you, but im new to installing stuff like this, i downloaded the mod but i dont know how to make it work, i tried doing it the ce way, but that didnt work, same with the ui, what am i doing wrong (yes i put the files in the map and backup file)

edit: nvm, i didnt see the post above, i should have known my crappy outdated graphics card and useless old monitor wouldnt let me enjoy this (like they do everygame) o well, there's enough there to tell me its working, this is awesome! great job! i can get my friend to get this and play it at his house, his card and monitor are awesome, but i have a really dumb question, do you think this would work on the cmt campaign (if thats too dumb just ignore it)

edit 2: nevermind, it doesnt do anything, still incredibly freaking awesome

Just downloaded the mod and got some exception error, but anyways could you form some sort of list to tell us what new features you've added?

Edit:Nevermind, saw the vid. Great mod.

Ok, here is a suggestion:

What is the point in allowing the marines to fire from the Pelicans? It looks terrible as the marines don't actually point their weapons and in Silent Cartographer they fire at the Pelican itself when trying to shoot the enemy.

When I applied the bitmap ppf and replaced ui.map I got a black screen in Halo. Also, the sounds.map ppf was great cept for one thing (in mp, the flamethrower's sounds are screwed to hell). Other than that, gj!
