Yes, reportedly 8 works fine. Photoshop 7 seems to have a compatibility problem. Thought I would let people know in case they run into the same thing.

Molkien ran across this problem. Has anyone else seen this? ...well saving out as a tiff from PS 7, kills the imbedded alpha, and rather than being a seperate channel, it just masks the tif. I imported it into premiere, and saved out a single frame as a tiff, and now it works He was referring to see...

I believe part of the tutorial explains calculating the lightmaps, which is something that you can do with either tool.exe or HaloCE with one of the dev commands.

You will be able to add new maps, you won't have to overwrite old ones.

You will not have automatic download, although Sentinel is the next best thing.

As far as I know, there is no support for 3dsmax 6, but older versions are supported (3, 4 and 5.1 i think). In addition, there is not going to be a gmax plugin because it was way too expensive to license it. However, some people may be trying to figure out a way around this by writing a md3 convert...

The scenario import bug fix now allows you to import new scenery objects in rebuilt maps. This should allow you to do some very powerful things that weren't possible before.

You can import different blocks from a couple of maps to make new "building blocks" for you levels.
