you could possibly mod the xbox and buy a different disk drive that will let you rip games. i plan to do that to my broken xbox. you can play roms and copy games on to your hdd. (kinda illegal, but cool) you can buy a new disk drive for about 100 which is way better than having microsoft replace it ...
