So now that my map is released I feel that I should help some people out with my discoveries in destructible scenery and help icetiger out with LOD's. It's actually really simple once you figure out how it works. First to set up levels of detail you need to create 5 different models for your object....

you need to type radiosity_save after radiosity finishes in sapien. I suggest running radiosity in tool anyway, since it's much faster.

the problem with that is that there would be about a thousand open edge errors to correct, because sparkedit doesn't export the entire mesh correctly. you'd be better off building one of them from scratch.

oh and there is an obj2max plugin for 3ds max 6

He's talking about the master chief reference .max file, which is suppose to be there but isn't (or at least not for me). To get it I would just open the tutorial.max file and delete everything but the master chief reference and then save it as master_chief.max.

I used sparkedit 3.02 for this but I never had any problems duplicating anything. what I would suggest is to duplicate the scenery in HMT and then move it in sparkedit. when you duplicate it in HMT it'll be placed directly on top of the original scenery so you can just go into sparkedit and place it...

I'm not sure about prisoner but I tried that with HeH, and you just fall through the ceiling. It's too bad cuz I had a lot of ideas for the top of HEH.
