This wouldn't work for me either. I have a hunch that the big ass bridge that connects the two sides of the map may have something to do with it, like it goes too high and outside of the level's bsp or something. if you do put blocks behind the trees, you can just null out the link to the bitmaps of the blocks in HHT, then you would just have an invisible wall of blocks to prevent people from going past. I haven't even played this mod yet though, so I don't know how much of the blocks would be visible anyway...

sparkedit WILL compress this map, it worked like a charm for me. Just name it a40.map (I think) and put it in your map folder, and it'll always be there for ya (of course you'll lose your regular silent cartographer unless you have multiple copies of halo installed) If it doesn't work with sparkedit...
