FP = First Person. He means there is no weapon model that the player sees himself holding, only the model that other players see the player holding.

How would I get the skin to be applied ingame? I mean how do I get the model to know what .bitmap file to apply to it? Is it in the naming of the materials in max or what? I have seen 0 information on how this is done and I've looked around everywhere.

Ya that is the correct plasma sword and it looks alright but the first person model needs to be higher poly. If someone could make a tutorial on how tags work maybe I'd make a high poly version to use.

Well all you really needa do is import the model and give it its properties to use ingame but i have no idea at all how to do that. I just started learning basic stuff yesterday and I managed to export a map and almost get it to compile.

But when you import it the UV maps are not switched to the "comments" system that the game uses. So your UV changes just don't show up.
