okay HHT did the trick... it worked for all the maps i have except Library MP, which hangs the xbox on "Loading Level" when it's loaded from compressed. not sure what's up with that but ill figure it out i guess

is there a command line tool (or a simple windows tool) for making cache maps into compressed maps and vice versa? i'm using sparkedit to do it now but it's wicked tedious and hangs on lots of maps.
