I think jimmsta is joking. I sure hope he doesn't believe that, anyway... And as for why it should matter? Two words: New Maps. That's all I care about, anyway. And this can't be done until the collision model and structure BSP data is cracked, and that may be a while. Of course, Gearbox doesn't hav...

Yeah, the animations can't really be fixed, since the MC/Cortana aren't programmed to move in the way the cinematic models are. Besides, it's not like Cortana doesn't get to be inside the MC's armor on a regular basis anyway. (And that IS true.)

Looks pretty good. It's nice to see intelligent modders/programmers/hackers under the age of twenty. So many people your age just don't have the maturity nor the ability to do this kind of thing with dignity. Keep us updated. Also, like you said, Microsoft isn't going to bother prosecuting people wh...

It's cool to hear that Haloskins will be back up soon. I'm more of an Xbox modder due to all the LAN parties we get going, so it's more of my place--but I've found that Halomods is also a good place for resources, and I haven't seen anyone say anything bad about Haloskins for the short time I've bee...

One of the better LAN regulars for the Halo parties I host uses "Xenomorph" of his moniker and is a big fan of the Alien series, so I happen to know what it means. Yeah, basically it's the name of the species of creature featured in the movie series Alien. But you figured that out by now, ...

I dunno. I doubt Microsoft would make it easy to copy... I'm sure that someone out there will crack the security coding which keeps it from burning normally (perhaps this has already been done), but it's not that expensive, so there's not much need to copy it anyway.

I'm not able to check this, but if the index for the metadata of the loading screen texture is located in each map file, you could just change that with some unused/unimportant texture.

This is sweet. Can anyone say "Xenomorph"?

Actually, I'm working on a xenomorph mod for Xbox Halo... :) So I can say Xenomorph.

Err, yeah. Heh. Great job.

A lot of model editing seems to affect other models. Every time I inject a model to replace the MC, the plasma grenades and sniper rifle are replaced with a messed-up flamethrower. It looks like a cute little box, actually. :P Of course, that might be because my computer hates HMT 3...

I thought it used the same projectile as the Xbox flamethrower--what you would need to do is manually reconstruct the projectile via hex, I'd think. Of course, that isn't easy. Maybe you could borrow different lines of code from different weapons, I guess, but it's no easy task...

The only difference is a change of color, not a change of model. Whatever model one MC is, all MCs will be.

It's more complicated than that, I'm afraid... the metadata for the PC is very different from the metadata for the Xbox. A lot of stuff is in there that only "makes sense" to the platform it was designed for. You would need to do a lot more than just swap metadata to create a working repli...

Turret flying has been done via hexing on Xbox/PC singleplayer. If you can figure out how to do it for SP, it shouldn't be too hard to do it for MP. However, Gearbox DID modify the turrets so that they don't move in PC multiplayer (grenades, smacking, rockets, etc. have no effect) so that might be a...

I'm pretty sure the function "Trigger Lock" causes non-stop fire. What I don't get is why this function is even available, since you never actually find any weapons which will not cease firing. Maybe the Covenant use it or something. Anyway, that's a cool idea. I'm gonna have to test that ...
