I have tried making a simple map with just a water plane, a skybox and a couple of islands... and there is no hole in the water there. That one works as normal, so what's wrong with this map that makes it so different...?

I've modified the water-mask so it is all white in the alpha channel, then recompiled the map, and there is still exactly the same hole in the water. It must be to do with the water-mask, since the hole is the same shape as that black section in the alpha was, but I must have to do something else. A...

I have found a solution now. After quite a bit of fiddling with settings and shaders, I found that if you use a Shader_Transparent_Generic with only the top section filled in, then it works. Sapien gave me some errors about an unsupported shader type, but overall the lights worked and were invisible...

or you can make a text file using notepad, put in it 'cmd' and save it as 'tool.bat' in your Halo CE folder. Then, to run tool just double click this batch file.

Generally, if you just import the .wrl file (only tick the last checkbox), then you just remake the faces which are highlighted. This should solve almost any problem.

It did compress with colour-key, but even when I had it set with a pure black alpha it would not save with explicit alpha.

light.shader_environment

The bitmap is just a white square (64x64) with no alpha.
The bitmap tag for it is set to compress it with explicit alpha, but it refuses, probably because it has no alpha to compress.

It think the nav points are under netgame flags on sapien. Also,at the start/end I think you need to place a race_vehicle flag.

I would also like to know how you set the hill for KOTH, since I made a circle of hill flags but it doesn't work.

I don't know it this is what's causing your problem or not, but Halo will only pay attention to the tiling settings on your UVW map, not in the texture settings.
