host halo games. my bad, so i guess i dont need one to host a halo pc internet game?

Do I need a router to host?

I'm having trouble hosting, my clan members have said that they cant connect to my server. I've tried lowering my fire wall, and changing settings. So if somebody cud post the requirments for hosting that would rele help! thanks =)
