An Odd problem when running tool's structure command
It's been a long time since I've done any HEKing, but now that I'm back, I've been having nothing but trouble. Here is what happens: Whenever I run tool structure levels\LevelName LevelName , it compiles with no errors listed. However, each time I do this, it adds another BSP under the STRUCTURE BSP...

Shot-In-The-Dark
The setting is on a broken down covy ship where most of the lights are out. The point of this map was to have completely dark sections that light up when players fire a weapon or turn on their flashlight.

how do the primary and secondary detail maps work in an shader_environment for something like the ground shader for the tutorial? does it know where to apply the grass and where to apply the ground detail maps? also, what does checking the "simple paramiterization" checkbox do?

tiff mapping in max
3ds max doesnt render tiffs correctly (or at least my version doesnt), and they seem to be a lot lighter looking whick can make it harder to tell if the tiling for the mapping is correct. is there any way to fix this problem? if not, wouldnt it work to use a different format of the same image (like ...

Hey, i just started modding haloCE and have completed the tutorial that came with it as well as the tutorial on this site. I have a few questions for when i start my own larger map. 1. i noticed all of the ground/terrain tiff files that came with the HEK are 512x512. is this required? or can i have ...
