HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I'm trying to install a 40gb Quantim Fireball into my xbox. I made a hardrive format boot disk and it boots fine on my original hardrive. When I plug in the Quantim, It gives the "Your xbox needs to be serviced", screen. Any help is much appreciated.
