Actually, it's rather good. My first model was horrible compared to this. I could see this being in a low-polygonal adventure game. Once you are able to make primitive models, such as this, you realize that the only difference between your models and the models of the masters is the addition of deta...

Re: What to Consider while Creating your Maps..

* If you can, listen to music while mapping. Sounds weird, but it REALLY does help. Calms your mind and allows you to think and model better. I'm not joking. Try it out I agree whole-heartedly with that. I've been listening to all forms of Rock for years while modeling, working in flash, coding, an...

It's not just the graphics card man. I had the same problem when I compiled my map, which also only had two textures. I was trying to do it on a Geforce 2 MX 64mb... I know the problem is in either the shaders or the model material editor and shader/bitmap/tif file names not matching up. I had poste...

It looks like a later model... however, you may want to take another look at your clip and your pistol grip. They don't seem "just" right.

The AK 47 was the first gun I modeled... and the first model I ever completed hehe. I started with exactly the same parts, but you seem to have all the little details that make for a good model. About the actual model, I'm wondering if you are going for modern or classic? I went for classic, so my s...

Although the orginal poster may not see this, I think it's a good question for beginners... Since the topic is already revived by the previous poster, here goes: Most people have told me that milkshape is easiest for beginners... Heck, I started on it. I used Milkshape to learn all about verticies, ...

I hope this reaches the developers. While your map is unbelievable and breath-taking... it does lack some things. It only has a few bits of custom content, like the impressive, yet hard-to-handle atv and the turret. Weapons, hud interface, and other such novalties would make for a fresh experiance. ...

Soccer, if you have 3ds max, just look at the character creation tutorial about the fat kid... it's early on in the creating arms part.

Hey, it's very good low-poly stuff. I like it : ) You're good at placing only the necessary verticies.

Never said it did.

If it's part of a sniper rifle, then you definitely don't want your hands near it... I can't place the function of the holes, especially the big on on the side... It would have to be some sort of casing...

Completely off topic.

I was going to guess a part of a high-tech shotgun, but maybe not.

The handle is definitely too small : )

Before others go bashing you, I want to say that I like the renders. It's nice to see that some comical value can be put into the models. haha, I laughed when I saw it.

I think it may be your frame. You have to place the frame at the handle. Also, place frame at the origin.

Re: a few halo editing questions

ok hopefully this is the right forum unlike last time but i have a few questions from a halo modding rookie. 1) is it possible to take for eg the hanger from the pillar of autumn and use it in 3dsMAX6 It is possible, but you would have to find a way to export it. You can use HMT to export a section...

Hey, I've had this problem too. When I went back to make sure that all faces were uvw mapped, I ran into another problem. If I select one face and then map that, when I go back and select a new face, it disrupts the other's mapping... Any suggestions?

I don't know about the guerilla, but "could not find toolbeta.map" is a GOOD sign. When that comes up, just let tool continue to run.
