Actually, I just found out how to do dual-weilding. Not specificaly, but I'm sure it has something to do with spawning another instance of the UI, one primarily for weapons, then disable the grenades and other functions. It takes extremely good knowlage of assembly and HEX to do it correctly, but it...

Actually, a .map file is a C++ inline file. It means that the section gets pasted into the Halo application. Bungie probably encrypted the map file further so that there is barely any native C++ code inside. Most of it is scripting. Plus, machine code auto changes any variables into var1 and var2 an...

Err, I hate to tell you this, but it is actually proven impossible to make custom cutscenes in Halo without direct access to a map template. It is because Each camera movement in SP is controlled by several hundred nodes. There is a node for every time a camera is changed. When the camera reaches a ...

How did visual basic beta ruin your comp? Are you sure you had enough space? I have Visual Studio .NET 2003 with Direct-X and OpenGL extensions running on an old cube computer with one 19.1 harddrive with 1.82 GB free. Also, your not supposed to use Basic language for games, it doesn't offer much fe...

One more thing, do YOU know how to program? Because it is SO freakin hard. It is not just about your ability to program, but you logical solutions. Like first, start thinking how you would define a player (master chief) instance. I've tried it and so far I have about 50 different declarations. Not t...

You know what would pawn.... if you released a sequel that was an exact (well, close enough) replica of the E3 demo level. Then, if you figured out how to do AI scripts, you could replicate the E3 demo. OR, simply make spawn point near deactivated bipeds, enable the bumping thing for, like, 20 sec s...

Exporting Dynamic Functions using the .def file
Some of you know that the .def file is used to export function from dlls to because you don't know the memory adress of a funtion in a dll. Now, is there a way to export funtions from dlls if you don't know the funtion name? Say you have a dll. You don't have the source, and you have no idea what th...

Hey, a cool scenery could be Darth Vadar and Luke Skywalker locked in saber duel (though not moving). I don't understand how you plan on making the millenium falcon drivable without a seat. It might be cooler to make it below the star destroyer, locked by the traction beam. So only the turrets will ...

Hey, if you are making an RPG, or any kind of game, you shouldn't use basic. It is a rather old language that is limited and empty. Games will run but-slow in it. C++ has classes, buffers, OOP, MM, and APIs like OpenGL (which was used for the PreHalo version of Halo when originally planned for Mac) ...
