Sparkedit won't compress!!

i don't know if anyone else has run into this problem, but sparkedit won't compress my cache files. They load up fine in the editor, but when i save as compressed file it just says please wait and nothing else, not even an hourglass to tell me that it's working, just nothing! someone please help me, i just want to play new halo levels! if ANYTHING give me a place to get hht!
