Beginner- What is halo modding?

hellow,i just became intrested in modding. it would be good if some one please explained to me what modding is all about and how u do it. much appreciated!

Modding is modifying something. It's changing the files of a game; modifying them. The people at Bungie made Halo 2 using a modified Xbox (well, kinda) and a computer. And we modifyed Halo 2 using the same things; a modifyed Xbox and a computer. You get it? An Xbox works a lot like a computer. We get apps on our computer that could modify Halo 2 files and then we just transfer them over to our Xbox, and vuala, we got a modifyed Halo 2 map (or whatever).
