bump maps, how do you edit them

bump maps, how do you edit them

how you edit bump maps? i have photoshop 7.o and the dds plugin but i get an error if i try to open a bump map, does anyone know why?

I'm told that you should extract them with darkmatter, but I haven't tried it yet.

You mean BitMaps? Just extract the meta and then open them with Photoshop.

nope, he means bump maps. As in texture maps. They are the special bitmaps in the game that give things a smooth or grainy texture, ect.

I thought bump maps gave an illusion of depth on a texture. :?

Idk, maybe it's an illusion. Either way, it serves it's purpose to make stuff look detailed. :D
