when u make a map in halo ce... and your at the start of ur map.. do u have to do the ground texture that u have to make in photoshop or paintshop straight away.. beacuse what i couldent figure out was that on normal professional CE maps the ground txtures are normal with the real halo grasses and ground and stuff but on the HEK halo CE video tutorials on halomods on tutorail 1 u have to make a ground texture for ur map and it is said that that ground texture will be the real one for ur map...

so i was thinking is that horrible ground texture u make in step 1 the real ground texture or are u able to do the real grass textures in spaien or something?

i hope i have explained myself well...

You make your base bitmaps and that basicly shows what color your textures are going to be. You have to make your grass or whatever a alpha channel though. Once you go into the shaders and stuff you will put in what will show up as your alpha and non alpha parts. The alpha would would put a grass bitmaps and for non a dirt or ice or whatever.
