Tool / 3DS problem

ok sup ya,all i have a problem i watched the hek tutorial and when it came to the base i tryed to link the base to the frame but it wont let me any ideas on what im doing wrong i first click the linking thing at the top then i click my first base and i hit the letter h on my keyboard then i click frame then i click link and it wont work i tryed to use tool and it didnt work so i looked at the wrl file in 3ds max and it showed the base well i was just wondering how to fix it thanks

You have to attatch it to your level. Select your level, go to Editable Mesh, go to the edit geometry tab and click the attatch button. Select your base and make sure you check Do not modify material IDs when it asks you. Delete all the faces under the base and all the faces around it. Then create new faces that attatch your base to your level.

I did just like the hek tutorial said to but after i make new faces and all that i try to link the base to the frame and it wont work. so do i attach the base to my skybox (skybox is the level i made) then click and link them to the frame? thanks for your help

No. Just detatch your base and link to frame.
