Well, there's not much you can do to help me, but keep reading.. I got the HMT 3.0, which gave me joy, since I found that I couldn't change as much using just a hex editor. Actually, I havn't learned how to swap projectiles etc using HMT yet... Someone tell me?
Anyway, I made a SMG type thing out of the pistol just by editing weapon properties (had success), but then I tried to make the shotgun a cannon (no success). I wayy cut down on ammo and clip levels, altered reload times, etc. I then used my hex editor to (hopefully) put the scorpian shell ID in the shotgun pellet projectile's offset. I also tried to give the shotgun a scope, but when I rebuilt the map and attempted to load it, it crashed my game. So I slowly removed features from my shot-cannon.. no workie. I think it had something to do with ammo numbers... My SMG thingie worked... the crashing started when I tried the shot-cannon.
So, I was just wondering if any knowledgable person could toss out a few anti-crash tips when editing weaps. Thanks!

Well, you can't use HMT to swap projectiles, which is why I suggest you use HMT and Hex editing. But to make a shotgun shoot tank shells all you have to do is swap the shotgun pellet with the value of the tank shell. I don't get why you were rebuilding a map for such a simple task though. Otherwise I don't see why it crashed. Maybe you should just paste your backup map over it (you do have backups, right?) and retry.

whenever ur editing on HMT3 on anything and when u change it it says:
An Error occured while trying to process whatever, <-don't change that. usually if u change it after an error and save u'll get an exception. and to swap projectiles in HMT3 just go to projestiles and copy a meta value on one proj. and paste it on another projectile. (u can also use the swap button which does the same thing except u can only switch in the SAME catagory. for editing ammo try and make it somewhat pattern-like. like start out with 24 then have 48, 64 etc. lastly i wouldnt change the reload for shotgun its retarded.
