The Official Rant Thread
Or just don't play it like you're going for a high level. That stops all problems, because you won't have to worry about doing bad.
However, I just cannot seem to possibly figure out why people can be so bad? My Dad plays 1 game every few days .. and he might play once every day for about a week then he won't play.
He's gotten to a 45 by himself in both team slayer and team doubles. When he plays with me, he holds his own better than my friends who play this game on a regular basis.
Now, I don't know about you guys ... but this really doesn't make sense to me. How can my Dad be more consistent than someone who plays on a regular basis?
In my opinion, that would be someone who sucks. So, they just probably not try to get a high level. They would just suck horribly and piss people off.
Also, everyone who has replied to my post get offended like I'm talking directly to them. I never said anyone here was bad or that they suck. So, where did that come from? I'm not talking directly to anyone here like the replies to me have been. Kind of awkward that you would assume that...

Yeah, and I'm the average person that you would expect this from. I'm 15 years old (Not even legal working age) and I live way outside of town ... at least 30 minutes from any of my friends. I'm lazy (sleeping a minimum of 15 hours a day) and I have a heart murmur, not allowing me to do much physical activity. Now, I guess that's not exactly average, but the 15 year old kid on Halo, is me.Mr.Brightside wrote:You know, other people have lives outside of Halo 3
I'm sorry that you have a problem with the way I live my life. No, you never said that, but you implied it. No, I didn't imply the same thing. Because your life doesn't have to consist of nothing but Halo to be good at it. (Proven by people like my Dad.) I said that I hate people that suck, but still managed to get carried all the way to a level 48-49 and suck. But then at the same time, you have Brigadiers Grade 2 that deserved level 50's a long time ago that could completely destroy Generals who got carried all the way to 50, like the people that I'm referring to that got matched up with me and suck ass even though they're a 49. (Huge run-on, I know.)
So, I'm simply stating that I don't like you if you suck horribly and still go into matchmaking at around level 48-49. Because all you do is get on someone's team and then do horrible, and make your team lose.
This isn't about who has a life, and who doesn't. It's about people who suck at Halo 3 and who don't. Which, some would argue, is the same thing. It's definitely, definitely not. So, some would reply with, "Well, you have to put many hours into the game (making it your life) to be good at it."
I'm here to say that you don't. Even if you aren't born with natural talent, or if you aren't just good at the game (Like my Dad), then you could at least act like you went to school and think through situations logically.
Here, I'll give you guys an example of some of the people I'm referring to -- That I got matched up with, and that made me post that comment.
EX: Two guys run around a corner into the other team's side of the map. One gets sniped, and the other gets killed by shotgun. They respawn, run around the SAME corner and the SAME person gets killed by the SAME sniper/shotgun. This happens repeatedly throughout the game.
Now, I know someone is going to say that there's a difference between "Sucking", and not using common sense/thinking through something. However, if you thought through situations logically, then you wouldn't suck, as you would outsmart most of the people that you play with/against. So, then, wouldn't sucking be the same thing as not thinking through something?
Yes, there are other factors/variables that can constitute someone "sucking", as in not being able to keep your aimer on someone's head/body, but even if you got carried to a level 48/49, then you should have played enough games to be able to keep your aimer on someone's body, at the very least. Also, at level 49, that's NEVER the case. I don't think I've ever gotten angry at someone because of the fact that they couldn't snipe/BR/whatever. It's always because someone is a complete dumb ass, and they don't think through things.
I mean, I've been outsmarted by a 'Staff Captain', and completely wrecked '5 Star Generals'. It's all about the way you play the game. So, if you can keep your aimer on someone's head/body, but you still say you suck, then you're just not putting enough thought into the game.
Whether you've played the game before or not, you should be able to fly through levels 1-25 on Halo 3. My friend doesn't even OWN A XBOX, and he only plays when he comes to my house. I won't play with him in ranked matchmaking, because of his performance. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not a complete ass to him. I do play many, many social games and custom games with him. However, he went into Team Slayer by himself and leveled all the way to a 31. So, in my opinion, if you play the game on a regular basis and can't get to at least a level 30, then there's something wrong with you mentally or physically. Another one of my friends is a triplet and his growth plate in his arm stopped growing (around his wrist), and so he's had to have many, many surgeries on it. Now, he doesn't even have his original wrist, as he has a steel plate. He cannot bend/move his wrist in anyway at all, disabling him from doing many things on Halo. He can't even zoom in with weapons, because it's disabled his thumb. He has leveled to a 45(!) without having amazing teammates to play with, and without a wrist/right thumb.
But yeah, I'm going to bed. Tired of typing. It's 4:58 AM.
EDIT: Actually, I'm going to do this for Tural, because I know he's going to do it anyways.
tl;dr -- I have a life, and friends, but I'm not legal working age and I have a heart murmur. Can't have much physical activity, and I'm good at Halo, so I play alot of it. I'm not talking about people who can't keep their aimer on people, because that's never the problem. It's retards who don't think through stuff. I have a friend without a xbox who got to a 31, and a disabled friend that got to a 45. If you can't get to at least a 30, then you aren't thinking through stuff logically.
I think that's about all. It would be better if you would actually read it.

I never implied that to you.
I was implying that you shouldn't expect everyone on the game to be "uber leet". Maybe, the players that suck you were talking about just wanted to have some fun, and play a few games of Halo 3 once in awhile, because maybe they have work or school.
@rant:
*Not implying this to DrXThirst*
I hate when people make a game more than what it is, a mere game. In other words, don't think you're a big badass because you're better than someone at a video game. There are more important things in life than your BR's ammo count

How else are they going to make up for their high pitched voices and limp arms?Mr.Brightside wrote:@rant:

Why is 99% of the Halo 3 community rude immature showboats?
I'd lose one game because i'd go in a Team Slayer game with a party of three and having that one other dude have a negative 10 k/d and in the post game lobby i'd get a bunch of Colonels and Commanders show off "ohhh you don't deserve that 46! you suck! blah blah blah".
Why don't people say "good game" anymore?

"You know what I'd like to be? I mean if I had my goddamn choice, I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all."
or should I?
I guess the truth just hurts too much.
In my opinion, the leveling system should be just like Halo 2's.
It keeps all the people that suck, down to 25 and below. You don't even have to worry about them at higher levels, because you can't have a weak link in Halo 2. It's so hard to get carried past level 25, because all 4 of the other teammates are good.
The highest level I've achieved in Halo 2 is a 38 in Team Hardcore. It's so hard to level up, you have to have an amazing team and you have to be amazing. I'm a 33 in it now, and I'm a 31 in Team Slayer and I was a 31 in Team Snipers.
Most people don't level past 25, unless you have an edge above the rest of the community.
I mean, I guess the same concept could apply, seeing as how if you go in with 2 teammates, then you have the chance to get 2 other not-so-good teammates. However, to even get that high, you have to at least know what you're doing and be able to think through situations logically.
So, maybe I just hate the ranking system? Or maybe it's people who really don't deserve the level that they have? I think that would fit the description better.
I think if people wouldn't boost, and then still go into Team Slayer, then everything would be ok. Because if you're a level 46, and you're not even close to being as good as the people you're playing against, then you definitely don't deserve that 46.
I can handle almost ALL competition, even though I do lose games. That's what this rant came from, is me losing a game. Me and my friend went in, and got 2 people who were just running around, not thinking through situations.
You guys can take it personally, ignore it, or take it however you want to. Point is, you shouldn't go into Team Slayer by yourself, if you know for a fact that you don't deserve that level. Because all you're doing is getting into a game that's going to piss people off because you suck.
tl;dr - People suck, End of discussion.

What, What? What do you not understand?
Also, are you honestly not 16 yet?
If you'd rather count the years for yourself, my birthday is February 6th, 1993.
