Dead Rising has great graphics, and I consider the slow down on that to be more of an effect. Also, the game lasts forever...it's extremely fun and addicting. Don't ever base your opinion of a game on the demo, or the graphics...go play the full game and tell me how lame it is.TheLastMaverick7 wrote:In my mind, the console with the best graphics is the best, since you can get the most out of what you payed for. The 360 looks nice, but I've play my friend's download demo of Dead Rising. If you kill more than 3 zombies at the same time it slows down to about 5 FPS. But the name of this topic is PS3 or Wii, so that excludes the 360 anyhow. Out of the remaining too, I'd say its just opinion. The PS3 has better graphics, but the Wii has worse graphics. Having worse graphics is sometimes a good thing. If Nintendo gave the new Zelda game blazing graphics that the Wii couldn't run, that wouldn't be very fun to lag around. So, PS3 or Wii? I'd go with PS3, cause because I'm power-drivin.
Also, the PS3 doesn't have great graphics...Gears of War looks better than Resistance...and Resistance is 17.53gb, as opposed to the <9gb of Gears. So for some odd reason, you have to pay for the blu-ray drive PS3 so you can play the extremely oversized games on their proprietary format.
Sony has also been known for their lasers causing major problems with the disc drive. I've seen videos of the PS3 not even taking a disc...videos of problems it has caused with the disc, etc etc.
Point is...PS3 is just plain out bad. I see no benefit to it, and it has definitely not impressed me in any manner, except its massive ability to fail extra hard.

Don't listen to him. IMO is a code word for emo.
Never, never! in my life have I heard anyone say, "As long as the graphics are good, it'll be a good game," until now.
Graphics do NOT make the game great. Take a look at Halo 1 (hell, look at Contra!). It's still a great game yet the graphics are crap compared to next-gen consoles.
The Wii is so much more fun than the PS3, I believe. WiiSports is the best!
I had a chance to play it at work on Black Friday during my lunch hour and bowling, tennis, baseball, and boxing are the funnest things I have done in quite a while.
Look at it this way. You could buy a PS3, and let Sony rip you off with every game because "Teh grphx r awesome."
Or you could get a 360 because the graphics are actually next-gen, and get a Wii for sheer enjoyment and pleasure.

That's the reason I despize Playstations, gamers should avoid them and get a Wii, Nentendos has always been better than Playstations, Golden Eye >>> Killzone, and Ketchup is right, graphics don't mean shit, the fun means shit.GametagAeonFlux wrote:Sony has also been known for their lasers causing major problems with the disc drive. Furthermore, I don't see why you guys are expecting PS3 to have amazing games on launch, Xbox 360 didn't have good games when it first came out either.

Graphics do mean shit. Whilst I agree they don't mean everything, they do mean a lot. That's almost the whole purpose of new consoles, to improve upon the graphics.
They don't bring out the next-gen of consoles to improve storytelling, they do it to make games look better.
And anyone that insults Dead Rising deserves the fate of a zombie 3 feet away from me when I have the excavator. >_>

X360 didn't have good games at launch, but we atleast had tons of games to look forward to in the near future, such as GRAW and DOA4. They have...MGS4...um...uh...yeah.Ombre wrote:Gamecube sucked donkey balls.

And also, Gamecube wasn't bad...I think it actually made more profit than PS2/Xbox. Plus it had tons of great games...Super Smash Bros, Metroid Prime 1/2, Zelda, Phantasy Star Online (admittedly, that was also on Dreamcast).
Don't mess with my logic yo.

Dead Rising is poorly coded in the fact that the text is only readbable on high-end screens. Moreso in the fact that Capcom refuses to fix it and tells people they shouldn't have a 360 without an HDTV. That's just arrogant and rude - I'm appalled MS didn't say something about it.iGeo wrote:And anyone that insults Dead Rising deserves the fate of a zombie 3 feet away from me when I have the excavator. >_>
And then, to top it off, they did the same thing EVEN WORSE in multiplayer Lost Planet. Come on now.
This doesn't affect me, since I do in fact game on an HDTV, but it's still rediculous to see the threshold for quality and testing being lowered by companies.

HDTVs aren't really that expensive anymore...people just see HDTV and immediately think $1200 40+inch uber tv.DWells55 wrote:Dead Rising is poorly coded in the fact that the text is only readbable on high-end screens. You can get a decent sized HDTV for a couple hundred bucks...and by now, if you have $300/400 to spend on a gaming console, you probably have more than enough extra money to spend on an HDTV. Also, if you get a decent job, you can make that in a couple weeks.
I'm only 16 and make $200 a week.

I'm 17 and I own three HDTVs - it isn't an issue for me.
What I'm saying here that it is and issue for a lot ofpeople. I know people who had to save for a very long time to be able to afford an Xbox 360. A console that Microsoft assures to be fully compatible with and capable of looking great on your SDTV. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have an HDTV.
To not include proper support for SDTV users is not right. And it's much worse to be arrogant and rude and tell them they don't deserve an Xbox 360. The logic that people who can afford a 360 can afford an HDTV is backwards - a large majority of people spend all their free money to get the console and have no money to spare.

That makes no sense - just because it takes a while to save money for items for personal entertainment doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to treat yourself to them.GametagAeonFlux wrote:Well if you are having to save money like that...then you probably shouldn't be spending it on video games.
HDTVs could be a dime for all I care. The point here is you have Microsoft with a console they promise to be fully compatible with and clean on SDTV sets and then developers breaking this promise. It's not appropriate. When you are told something will work properly with something else, it should, no matter what the situation.
Microsoft would have been referring to Microsoft Game studios games, not Capcom games.
Also, I'd much rather it be designed for HD, even if I had SD, it makes sense. Why waste time on making it compatible with technology that is soon gonna be obsolete? =/ You deserve the fate of that zombie I mentioned... =p
