As for an enviroment, I've been looking about for a program that'd extract, say, the BSP of a level to an .obj, but so far I've come up empty.

Whereabouts these parts might I find something like that?

theres something i made in about 10 minutes. Pretty much the extent of my 3dsmax abilities. Extremely basic, but i kinda like it. I use it as my desktop.

That's just a guideline. You can create crap in four hours, or make something amazing in one.
It basically means to put effort into your work.

thats true, most of my renders took me a while just because i had no idea what i was doing, but ive yet to post any renders in the render gallery submission thread.

Yeah, environment modeling is what I'm best at. I'm working on my texturing skills at the moment as well.

Shaders in the second pic look screwy. The overall render look...boring.
It's just a hallway... A basic one at that.

This scene is pretty old, but I re-opened it today to make a fresh render of it.
The space skybox textures were relocated and were no longer linked to the scene so I wasn't about to post a shot looking out the window.
