And I second myself.
To my knowledge, shadows are not producible on that type of graphics card. Therefore, he could not be in a "dark location".

It looks EXACTLY like my old one (Dell L800r)
But I had a great graphics card.
I think your problem may not be the graphics card, but not having enough processor power to power it
Like my processor was a pentium 3, I think like 64mb of RAM...

Do you know your computer's module and processor?
It'd help if you could tell me.
[Edit] I'd also suggest increasing your gamma. Dark games hurt your eyes in the long run.
