Or how beautifully simple.

Imagine if there wasn't a tag based system. Imagine if the entire game was hard-coded.

Imagine, if you will... A world were no-one was told "you can do it!" but instead, stop trying you st00pid n00b because j00 can't d00 it..."

Where would we be?

Now, granted, it ISN'T simple to convert HPC BSP to Xbox BSP, but they aren't apples and oranges. They are more like tangerines and oranges.

It's more than possible, it just will require a bunch of work. If he feels he wants to try, by golly, let him. Give him a Hex editor, point him to some tutorials on map file format and snap the whip!

Sorry, not directing this at you; I'm trying to psyche myself up for converting FissureFall to Xbox (I've made good progress and KNOW how I'm going to finish the project. )

As for digital71... there is a way, but you would have to have the JMS (or .max) file to convert it to "scenery" which you can then port to Xbox and place in a blank BSP. It's been done, just with custom maps, not default HPC maps. You could easily open the mesh with sparkedit, twiddle with it to get it a "closed world," do some UV magic on it, and you're good to go.

Like I said before, its not EASY, persay, but its possible.
